'ANCESTRAL CURSE-THE ORIGIN OF SIN\ third chapter

Another point which proves the woman’s absence while God was giving the law to Adam is that upon the serpent’s approach to tempt her knowledge about the forbidden tree, she added “neither shall you touch it” which was not inclusive in the direct word from God to Adam. (Gen. 2:16 – And the Lord God commanded man saying: of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: Vrs. 17- But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die.”)
It is undisputable fact that they could not have eaten of it without touching it first; on the other hand, they could have touched without eaten of it, in which case God could have warned them a second time in his own wisdom and judgment, since the direct words from God to Adam was “not to eat of it.”
Proverbs 30:6 says: And not unto his words, lest he reproves you, and you be found a liar.”
You would realize that Eve’s answer to the serpent with the addition of “not to touch it” made the serpent wifer a sense of ignorance and lack of adequate knowledge about something could easily lead one to err. All said and done, God’s first commandment was contravened by Adam by following the deceitful and counter directions from the serpent through the woman- a weaker vessel- and an instrument of the devil at that motional moment.
Adam could not have erred if he had not listened to his wife whom the devil had masterfully planned to use as an agent of seduction, a strategy that completely eluded Adam’s intelligence at the time.
Gen. 3:17 “And unto Adam God said ‘Because you have listened unto the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree which I commanded you, saying, you shall not eat of it: CURSED is the ground for your sake; in sorrow shall you eat of it all the days of your life.
For this reason, God had seriously cautioned men to be extra careful in their deliberation and revelation to their helpmates.
Micah 7:5 “Trust not in a friend, put not confidence in a companion: keep the doors of your mouth from her that lies in your bosom.” In close resemblance to the above scripture, the Akans have a saying “suro nea oben wo”, literally meaning “fear him who is near you”. Include the examples of Sarah and Abraham, Sampson and Delila, Joseph and Portifa’s wife and David and Uriah’s wife.
THE FORBIDDEN TREE
There is a school of thought that consider the original or the first SIN as Adam having sex with Eve. This is completely baseless and unfounded. If eating of the fruits of good and evil could mean sex, then what could mean eating of the tree of life also found in the garden of Eden? If Adam seeing his wife- thus having sex with her could be sinful then how could they have filled the earth and replenish it? Reproduction could not have been possible without sexual intimacy. When the Lord God had made Eve out of Adam he gave him the woman as a wife and not his concubine in which case having sex together could have been sinful. In Gen. 2:23, Adam said: “this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man.
