'ANCESTRAL CURSE-THE ORIGIN OF SIN/sixth chapter

Vrs. 31. So Samuel turned again after Saul: and Saul worshiped the LORD:
From the above story it is absolutely clear that Saul was dethroned and rejected as king of Israel for the sin of disobedience which was caused by fearing his people instead of fearing and obeying God to execute the assignment as the prophet Saul had instructed. The prophet Samuel considered “disobedience” and “rebellion” as grievous as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness as iniquity and idolatry. In the same manner God considered Adams refusal to obey him rather than listening to his wife and obeying the devil in the form of the serpent as a grievous sin punishable by death.
HARD LABOUR SENTENCE
The LORD God, considering the gravity of Adams disobedience, sentence him to “Hard labour” before labour – Gen 3:19 “In the sweat of your face shall you eat bread, till you return unto the ground, for out of it were you taken: for dust you are, and unto dust shall you return”. Since God had initially cursed the ground for Adams sake because of obeying his wife instead of God, the sentence of land labour – “In the sweat of your face shall you eat bread”- has had a very serious impact and life-long effect on humanity.
The domineering effect of the “hard labour sentence” – God’s curse- -upon humanity has been felt in three major areas, being the basic needs of life- thus the provision of (1) FOOD (2) CLOTHING and (3) SHELTER. It is a fact of life that the end result of the exertion of every bit of human energy is basically to feed, cloth and shelter himself. In the daily pursuit of acquiring his basic needs man has been tirelessly subjected to the pangs and stings of the Adamic curse because without those provision life cannot be possible on this earth. The overwhelming and humiliating effect and influence of this “curse” has been the major source of all human was which will continue to be felt until the end of this system of things.
Why is this curse hereditary?
As disobedience, for that matter, sin had been the original cause for God cursing the ground with subsequent effects upon Adam unto death, generations of humanity will continue to be under the grip of it as long as sin is prevalent upon the earth.
The prophet Haggai writes:
“Thus says the LORD of host: consider your ways. Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure` in it, and I will be glorified, says the LORD. You looked for much, and lo, it come to little; and when you brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? Says the LORD of hosts. Because of my house that is in ruins, and you ruin every man unto his own house. Therefore the heavens over you withhold the dew, and the earth withholds their fruit. And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the new wine, and upon the mountains and upon the grain, and upon the new wine and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground brings forth, and upon the men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the lands.” (Haggai 1:7-11) “If I shut up heaven that there be no rain or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and then from their wicked ways then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”. (11 Chronicles 7:13-14).
The above scriptures – Haggai 1:7-11 and 11 Chronicles 7:13-14 do give or vivid explanation and demonstration of how serious God abhors sin or evil, and that his desire is to call us unto repentance so that calamities, plagues, sicknesses and diseases as well as untold hardships and sufferings could be averted. However, as God of justice, he also desires to punish us for disobedience, stubbornness and rebellion against his divine principles. He expects us to be clothed in humility, for God resist the proud, and give grace to the humble. (1 Peter 5:5).
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your care upon him, for he cares for you.” (1 Peter 6:7)
The Lord God as a loving and caring father takes much pleasure in our expression of remorse for wrong-doings and is ever ready to forgive and exercise this divine attitude of mercy upon us as soon as we repent of our sins and abide not to continue in that negative behavior
