Education they say is the key to national development and time spent is never gained. For this reason, the primary one children of Freshers School Complex were busily reading their books, when Christian Journal news team paid a visit to the school.
Although the children were on break at the time CJ visited, most of them were busy with their books in their respective classrooms. Speaking in an interview after the break, the Proprietress of the school, Mrs. Agbemadu disclosed that most of the children are fond of spending the last ten minutes of their first break in their classrooms to prepare for the next lesson.
This she said has improved on the performances of the children.
She stated that, every child has the ability to excel if he or she will cultivate reading as a habit and hobby. In addition, she appealed to parents and guardians to consider issues concerning their children’s studies and pay more attention to it in order for them to cultivate the habit of studying than playing.
Mrs. Agbemadu remarked that no child is useless and for that matter, parents should do anything within their strength to send their children to school, for failure to do so may bring disgrace to them in future.
She therefore admonished the students to do away with certain behaviors which will drive them away from their books and also cautioned them to desist from bad friends who will be a hindrance to their progress in lives.
