POLITICIANS TOLD TO BE CHILD CENTERED
Posted on: Thu 04 Dec, 2008.

Mrs. Florence Adjepong, the principal of Alpha Beta Educational Centre has asked politicians to be child centered during this year’s elections. She made this statement during their twentieth anniversary held at the school premises at Dansoman Accra. Mrs. Adjepong said children are the back bone of this country and that politicians should not only concentrate on their political ambition but should put the future of this country at heart.

She told Christian Journal (CJ) newspaper how Alpha Beta started. She said the school started in the year 1988 with only six children under a garage of her house at Dansoman, she said it was then a Montessori until June 1992 when a sword was cut for the commissioning of a school building which was then a fishpond site for ministries of Agriculture. Mrs. Adjepong said in 1993 to 1998 they had finished the primary and Junior High School (JHS) block. By the help of individual donors.

The 2004, 2008 Secondary Session had been finished.

Rev. Prof. S.K. Adjepong said children are the most precious gifts and that they represent our greatest hope. He therefore told parents to have a unique and primary responsibility in the upbringing of their children by providing a loving home, instilling values, and directing their children’s Education. Parents were therefore advised to develop knowledge by becoming involved in their children’s education at school and in the community.

Finally Mrs. Adjepong encouraged everybody to dream big. She said if we have the faith and ready to take risk, then we can make it for through determination and faith one can always complte the journey of success.
