Hammers join Saha chase

West Ham have joined the race to sign Manchester United striker Louis Saha, according to sources in France.
Saha has been strongly tipped to link up with former Red Devils team-mate Roy Keane at Sunderland in the English press on Tuesday but is thought to be interested in returning to London.
The former Fulham forward has frustrated Sir Alex Ferguson with his injury battles over the past couple of seasons but remains a top-class centre forward when fit.
Keane has money to spend and is desperate to buy a new striker with last season's Kenwyne Jones undergoing surgery on his knee injury.
However, West Ham have injury concerns of their own with Craig Bellamy limping out of the friendly with Ipswich Town.
Alan Curbishley has offloaded Bobby Zamora to Fulham and would like a new partner for in-form Dean Ashton.
Whether The Hammers can match Sunderland's bid is another matter but if Saha would rather move to Upton Park a deal could be done, providing it is a permanent transfer rather than a loan switch, which does not suit United.
The Hammers have added to their ranks with the capture of 17-year-old midfielder Georg Grasser from Austrian side Grazer AK. Back
